The Bishops Visit to Broadway
June 2007
The Bishop's Visit to Broadway The Rt. Revd. David Walker, Bishop of Dudley came to Broadway in June to gain an inside view of life in Broadway. The day began with prayer in the
parish church at 8.15am.  Soon the Bishop was meeting residents of Bredon Court who meet monthly for C.C.C. (Church, Coffee & Chat) and enjoyed a tea cake with the Bishop at Tisanes Tea shop. This was followed by a church service to which over forty people attended.
Then came a graceful walk down the Cotswold Way to view some of the work undertaken by volunteer Cotswold Wardens. David Jelfs and Stuart Bates explained the lengthy process of just rebuilding one bridge, the Bishop was surprised to hear that some 40,000 hours a year is spent by volunteers keeping the countryside attractive for walkers and visitors.
